Construction Colleague:
It
wasn't that long ago that I was a frustrated, lowpaid bookkeeper struggling
to do my job. At my company, we used QuickBooks and a bunch of spreadsheets
to manage the business. I probably don't have to tell you this, but it
wasn't
easy.
Back then, the construction market wasn't struggling like it is now.
Business was booming. And even though I came in early and went home late, I
just couldn't keep up with all the paperwork!
It
seems crazy now, but I was entering the same information two and three
times, yet I still couldn't get the reports our management needed from
QuickBooks. I was forced to use Excel to create our reports. I'm
embarrassed to say
this, but our reports had a lot of errors . . .
